Ronan Hardy (Côtes d'Armor-Marie Morin) a remporté samedi la 1ère étape du Tour Val de Saintonge, courue entre Coivert et Varaize sur 130 kilomètres. Il s'impose devant l'ancien pro Nicolas Crosbie (Super U Maritime A.PO.GE Cycliste) et le champion du Poitou-Charentes Willy Perrochereau (CA Civray). Ronan Hardy devient du même coup le premier maillot jaune de l'épreuve toutes catégories.
